BobaTalk

The active way to learn a language

Learn a language by talking and writing about things you care about.

Talk out loud with an AI tutor, or write a few paragraphs and send them in. Use something you're already reading or watching, like a PDF, an article or a YouTube video, or just start with whatever is on your mind. Afterward, you get a report that goes through your own sentences and shows a better way to put the ones that need it.

How it works, and why

You learn from what you say and write

Reading and watching things in a language feels productive, but most of it fades unless you use it. What stays is what you've put into your own words because you had something to say. So in every session, you're the one doing the talking or the writing.

Start with something you already care about

It's much easier to find the words for a subject you know and like. Bring a PDF or Word file, a photo of a page, a web page, a YouTube video or a public GitHub repo, and the tutor will have it on hand while you talk. You decide what to practice and when, and that's a big part of what makes it fun.

Get your point across first

While you're talking, the tutor won't stop you to point out mistakes. If one matters, it says the right version in its own reply and keeps going. Afterward, whether you talked or wrote, you get a report that shows a better way to put the sentences that need it, and why. Those corrections, plus expressions you reached for but didn't know, turn into flashcards that come back over the following days and weeks.
